"Our school values have helped me grow as a person and prepared me for secondary school. When we come into school in the morning and we are reminded of the value in assembly, it changes your mindset into the right mindset - ready for the day!" - Year 6 pupil
Our School Values
At BVP, we have six core values that underpin everything we do here at our school: Respect, Responsibility, Challenge, Integrity, Compassion and Collaboration. These values are central to our school ethos and shape the way we learn and behave and help to create a positive, inclusive and ambitious school environment. Each half term, we focus on one of these values in depth, exploring what it means and how we can show it in our daily lives.
Every Friday, we hold a special Values Assembly, where one child from each class is awarded a certificate if they have demonstrated that term's focus value particularly well. These celebrations are also shared with families through our weekly newsletter, helping to reinforce and celebrate the importance of living out our school values both in and out of the classroom.

"It is important to respect everyone in our school community so that everyone feels safe and everybody feels included"
"We have lots of responsibilities within school - house captains, school council, looking after not only our own property but also school's, Rights Respecting School Ambassador, Eco Ambassadors, being a good friend"
"Sometimes it is good to do things that I find difficult so that I can feel proud of myself when I have done it - once you've done something, you'll realise actually I can do it and will be able to do it again"

"Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching you - this means being helpful and responsible and then your teacher doesn't have to worry about you when they're not there"
"Compassion means looking after each other, no matter how big or small they are and being inclusive"
"Me and my class work together as a team, we speak, collaborate and show compassion for each other. We listen to each other and compromise"
