Snow day - 9th January 2026
Learning Tasks for the Day:
- Maths - Numbots, hit the button (number bonds, times tables and doubling) https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button and place value practice https://www.topmarks.co.uk/learning-to-count/place-value-basketball
- Reading - Spend some time reading a book of your choice and then record responses in your reading diary.
- Writing - Either write a poem or descriptive sentences using adjectives about what you can see outside today.
- Creative Outdoor Task- Build a snowy structure (this could be a snowman, a snow build, or any creative design). Take a photograph of your snowy creation to share with your peers when we return to school.
- Science - Melt snow and make observations about how it changes - can we turn it back into snow? Record and measure the depth of snow in different locations.
Please feel free to complete these activities at a comfortable pace throughout the day. Stay safe and warm, but enjoy the snow if you are able to do so safely.
