Welcome to your newsletter for week ending October 10th

First of all, thankyou for coming along to the parents' evenings this week- we hope you found the appointments useful and that you feel updated with how your children are settling in as well as understanding their targets for the term. If you weren't able to make one of the evenings, please get in touch with class teachers to arrange an alternative time. These conversations are incredibly important in making sure we are working together, to get things just right for our children. Don't forget that in December you will be able to see your children's progress data on Arbor and then in January, we have an earlier than usual set of parents' evenings, so you can discuss this further.

This week we kicked off our focus on Black History Month. This year's theme 'standing firm in power and pride' will be threaded through activities in assemblies as well as other activities in and out of classrooms. We have also been focusing on the A,B,C,D and E of Children's Rights - see if your children can remember what these stand for!

Next week we are celebrating Diwali, and we have our friends from Sampad coming in to run workshops for children in Years 2,4 and 5- we look forward to sharing some insights in next week's newsletter.

Early Collections

We understand some families inform class teachers at drop off regarding early collections but sometimes this message doesn't reach the school office. Going forward please can parents also call or email the school office if they are collecting their child early on so everyone at BVP is in the loop!

Tel: 0121 675 9098

Email: [email protected]

Parking

Just a reminder for our families to be more mindful at drop off and pick up when it comes to parking. We've received some calls from residents and local businesses about parking around these times as they are often blocked in/ out of their own drives and spaces.

We understand there is limited parking around the school but if our families could be more aware of this, that would be wonderful.

11+

11+ results will be out soon for some of our year 6 pupils.  It is quite normal to feel a bit anxious about receiving results, but if you or any one you know might benefit from some extra support at this time, we have a social story script  available to help.  Please ask any of our year 6 team.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children’s best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information, and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
