Welcome to your newsletter for week ending September 26th

What a fabulous day (and week!) we have had a BVP! Today's Talent Shows have been a wonderful celebration of all sorts of skills, interests and passions and we are incredibly proud of all the just over 200 children who performed and the children who celebrated and cheered along their friends and peers. Thankyou too, to friends and families who have supported children in preparing for the special event.

We are always telling our children that BVP is their school and today's shows are a reflection of just that; the year before last, two of our Year Five pupils asked if we could arrange a Talent Show for the whole school and here we are, two years later with our second set of shows. Children who are reading this newsletter- this is a reminder that you really can make anything happen if you persevere!

We have had lots of families in school this week with a Dinosaur event in The Cadbury Building and Phonics workshops in Elizabeth- thank you to all the families who attended, we hope you found the sessions enjoyable and informative.

Have a good look at what's coming up further below and as always, keep your eye on the website calendar for a look at the terms and year ahead!

Safeguarding Newsletter – Supporting Our Families

We are pleased to share that, starting this month, we will be introducing a monthly safeguarding newsletter. Each edition will focus on a key theme to help support our families with advice, resources, and practical tips to keep children safe.

Our first edition is all about Online Safety – a topic that is more important than ever as children spend increasing amounts of time online for both learning and leisure. The newsletter provides guidance on how to help children use the internet safely, as well as signposting further support for families.

You can access the first safeguarding newsletter here: https://www.servicesforeducation.co.uk/the-safest-start/parents-safeguarding-online-safety/

We hope you find these monthly updates helpful.

And finally...

This week we were delighted to hold our Talent Show at the Cadbury Theatre. The children were fantastic, and it was wonderful to see so many of their talents celebrated on stage. A big thank you to all families for your support, and our apologies for the late finish – it was certainly worth it for such a special occasion!

We would also like to thank everyone who has kindly made donations. These can still be made through Arbor, and every contribution, no matter how small, helps us as we work towards funding a new climbing frame for the children.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children’s best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information, and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
