Safeguarding
Safeguarding at Bournville Village Primary School
Bournville Village Primary School is committed to safeguarding all of our children and promoting their welfare. We take our responsibility very seriously; we have a duty of care. We help children to identify what makes them feel safe and teach them how to stay safe through our broad and balanced curriculum.
All of our staff are trained annually in line with Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership guidelines. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection/Safeguarding Policy, which can be viewed in the Policies section of our website.
There may be times when we need to call Children’s Advice and Support Service (CASS) to ask for advice or even make a referral about a child. We ask that you respect our professionalism should we need to do this; in some cases, we may need to do this without seeking parental involvement to help ensure the safety and well-being of a child.
If you have any concerns, or would like to speak to a member of staff:
Designated Senior Lead is: Mrs Carter (Deputy Head Teacher)
Designated Senior Persons are:
Mr Evans (Assistant Head Teacher)
Ms Kovacs (Pastoral Lead)
Mr Purcell (Pastoral Assistant)
Mrs Amy Cooper (Head Teacher) is also a Senior Lead.
You may also contact our Lead Governor for safeguarding, Mrs Anne Cull, through the school office.
Alternatively, you can contact CASS with a safeguarding concern directly on 0121 303 1888.
