At Bournville Village Primary School we have high expectations of our pupils and we work hard to ensure that they achieve during their time with us. In all year groups, our pupils have access to a varied and balanced curriculum and we are proud of their achievements and progress across all subjects.
SATS (Standard Assessment Tests) tests take place at the end of Year 2 and Year 6. They are government set, compulsory assessments used to show your child’s attainment and progress compared with other children nationally.
Year 6 SATs take place in May and assess reading; spelling, punctuation and grammar; mathematics and a sample of schools nationally are instructed to complete science tests. Writing is also assessed using teacher assessment judgements against set criteria.
Year 6 test papers are sent away to be marked, with results being available and shared with parents in July. As a school, we then receive data in the Autumn term telling us how we have performed in comparison to other primary schools.
As part of steps taken to fight the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the government announced that all exams due to take place in schools and colleges in England in summer 2020 were cancelled and that it will not publish any school or college level educational performance data based on tests, assessments or exams for 2020.
All the results detailed below are for the academic year 2018-2019. In summer 2019, we had only just amalgamated Bournville Infant and Junior Schools so the data published reflected this.
